Job Title: Production Line Worker Job Description
This role focuses on operating, adjusting, testing, and maintaining printing and production equipment to ensure consistent product quality and efficient output. You will follow detailed job specifications, complete daily production and quality documentation, and communicate any quality, material, or production issues to supervisory staff. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on a 4x2 rotating schedule, which includes working every other weekend.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret job specifications and obtain all required tooling for each production run.
- Set up machines to meet job orders and specifications, ensuring the equipment is configured correctly for each production run.
- Conduct ongoing visual inspections of machines for leaks, loose belts, and other mechanical issues using established checklists.
- Perform clearance procedures during shift changeovers to maintain safety and product integrity.
- Adjust machines as needed throughout the run to maintain customer specifications and quality standards.
- Complete setup profile sheets for new jobs to document machine configurations and process settings.
- Perform regular checks to verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Identify equipment malfunctions, material issues, safety concerns, and quality problems, and promptly report them to supervisors.
- Complete all required forms, production documents, and quality measurements for each production run accurately and on time.
- Perform line clearance procedures when changing products to prevent mix-ups and ensure proper documentation.
- Follow company personnel policies, safety policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.
- Carry out special projects and assignments as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Observe machine operations and verify that machined workpieces conform to specifications and tolerances.
- Diagnose and repair minor mechanical failures on production equipment using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to verify part dimensions and equipment settings.
- Apply blueprint reading skills to understand product requirements and machine setup parameters.
- Operate production machinery such as presses or similar equipment as needed in the manufacturing process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with plant standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues and improve processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production goals.
- Hands-on production and manufacturing experience in a machine operating environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job specifications for production and setup.
- Proficiency in operating production machinery and equipment, including setup and adjustment.
- Experience using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Skill in using hand tools for minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and address minor mechanical failures.
- Strong attention to detail to monitor quality, follow procedures, and complete documentation accurately.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts in daily work.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to read and comprehend instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to facilitate individual and group problem-solving efforts.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Capability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to maintain accurate quality check logs and complete daily production reports.
- Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Previous tube manufacturing experience.
- Experience with press brake or punch press operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a structured, process-driven manufacturing setting.
- Comfort working with Good Manufacturing Practices and standardized work instructions.
- Positive, proactive attitude toward safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a climate-controlled, clean production facility with a moderate noise level. The work environment is designed to support safe and efficient operation of manufacturing and printing equipment, with Good Manufacturing Practices in place. The position follows a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on a 4x2 rotating schedule, which includes working every other weekend. Employees work around production machinery and use hand tools and measuring devices while adhering to established safety policies and procedures.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
