Production Line Worker

Production Line Worker – 3rd ShiftThis role focuses on setting up, adjusting, testing, and maintaining printing and production equipment on a 3rd shift schedule. You ensure products meet customer specifications by performing regular inspections, maintaining quality records, and communicating any quality, material, or production issues to supervision. The schedule is a 12-hour 3rd shift (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) on a 4x2 rotating pattern, including every other weekend.ResponsibilitiesRead job specifications and obtain all required tooling and materials before starting production runs.Set up production machinery to meet specific job orders and customer specifications.Conduct ongoing visual inspections of machines for leaks, loose belts, and other issues using established checklists.Perform clearance procedures during shift changeovers to ensure safe and efficient transitions.Adjust machines as needed during production to maintain customer specifications and quality standards.Complete setup profile sheets for new jobs to document machine settings and requirements.Perform regular checks to verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.Identify equipment malfunctions, material issues, safety concerns, and quality problems and promptly report them to supervisors.Complete all required forms, documents, and quality measurements for each production run accurately and on time.Perform line clearance procedures when changing products to ensure proper separation and prevent mix-ups.Follow company personnel policies, safety procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.Carry out special projects and assignments as directed by supervisory personnel.Observe machine operations and verify that finished workpieces conform to specifications.Diagnose and repair minor mechanical failures to minimize downtime.Use hand tools, measuring tools, and inspection equipment to verify product and equipment performance.Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company standards.Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve production and quality issues.Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals.Essential SkillsPrevious production or manufacturing experience, including experience operating machines in a production environment.Ability to read and interpret job specifications, basic blueprints, and production documentation.Hands-on machine operating experience, including setting up and adjusting production equipment.Proficiency using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools for inspection and setup.Comfort using hand tools and basic mechanical tools to make adjustments and minor repairs.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose minor mechanical issues.Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate quality check logs and production reports.Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence and complete forms and production documentation clearly and accurately.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to coworkers and other stakeholders.Problem-solving skills, including individual and group facilitation to address production and quality issues.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Willingness and ability to work a 3rd shift schedule (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) on a 4x2 rotating schedule, including every other weekend.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.Previous tube manufacturing experience.Experience with press brake and punch press equipment.Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with team members and supervisors.Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented and maintain consistent quality standards.Comfort working with inspection processes and quality measurement tools.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform special projects as assigned.Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.Why Work Here?You join a stable organization that offers a clear contractor-to-hire path and significant opportunities for growth. You will regularly work with production machinery, inspection tools such as calipers and tape measures, and standard hand tools while adhering to all safety and housekeeping standards.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
