Order Picker (Night Shift)

Order PickerFood & Paper Supply, an established food and paper distributor located in the south suburbs of Chicago (Alsip), is seeking an Order Picker. The Order Picker will retrieve stock to fill customer orders and transport items to the shipping desk for packing. This person should have the ability to work well under pressure, independently and be a team player. This position works Sunday - Thursday, 8:00pm-3:00am Salary: $15 - $17/hourResponsibilitiesReceives orders from the order desk and retrieves goods from the warehouse.Stock pallets with product effectively.Notify supervisor of products misplaced, damaged, or expired.Check packing list for accuracy and inspects collected goods.Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or delivers order to packing desk.Update computer ordering system.Use an order-picker truck to pull orders when needed.Ensure the order picking process is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Six months of experience in warehouse operations preferred.Ability to operate various types of materials handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, standard forklifts, and order-picker forklifts when needed.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.Will be subject to moderate to loud noise.The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.Employees may, from time to time and on an as-needed basis, be required to perform duties outside of the responsibilities listed here
