Registered Nurse Labor and DeliveryProvide professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients using critical thinking and independent judgment. Utilize all phases of the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Be responsible for the direction and supervision of the nursing patient care team, typically made up of CNAs, LPNs, and other techs. Collaborate with team members and other disciplines in the provision of care. Document patient care, patient condition, and reactions to treatment in a timely manner. Track patient progress throughout the care process. Maintain a 1:1 RN to patient ratio for active labor, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin induction of labor; 1:3 for couplets; and 1:2 for early labor patients.
