JOB OVERVIEW

Unrivaled is seeking an experienced Senior Merchandise Designer to provide creative design services for Unrivaled's merchandise business during the 2026–2027 season. The engagement is expected to begin end of September, 2026, and continuing through approximately mid-March 2027, subject to completion of the agreed scope of services. The services are expected to be performed remotely, except as otherwise agreed by the parties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Merchandise Design & Seasonal Collections Execute designs for merchandise collections/campaigns each season, within established creative direction Create apparel graphics, typography, patterns, illustrations, visual elements Design across league-wide and club-specific product lines Support the seasonal merchandise calendar with consistent, on-time output Design for key moments: season launch, opening weekend, marquee games, playoffs/championship, player milestones, offseason drops Build and present concept decks, mood boards, and collection presentations to stakeholders as needed Work with Creative Director on all final designs Club Brand Execution Apply/extend each club's established visual identity across merchandise Develop secondary marks, typography, graphic treatments consistent with brand guidelines Ensure design consistency across all club product lines Player & Collaboration Collections Design player-inspired merchandise and capsule collections based on established concepts Execute creative concepts for collaborations with artists, designers, partners Production Take designs from concept through production-ready artwork Develop tech packs, colorways, artwork specs Work closely with merchandise, sourcing, and manufacturing partners Review samples/give feedback on materials, colors, print techniques, embroidery, fit, execution Understand production methods: screen printing, embroidery, appliqué, sublimation, patches, specialty inks

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

4–7 years experience in apparel, merchandise, fashion, sports, or streetwear design Strong graphic design and typography skills Solid understanding of apparel design and production Strong command of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, related tools Experience preparing production-ready apparel artwork Understanding of color, fabrication, print techniques, embroidery, garment construction Ability to work across multiple product lines simultaneously Strong knowledge of basketball culture, fashion, streetwear, contemporary visual culture Ability to present design concepts/collections clearly using PowerPoint/Keynote Unrivaled is an equal opportunity organization.
