Mechanical TechnicianNovelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Technician! The primary focus of this position is maintenance, service and repair of facilities and equipment. Successful Mechanical Technicians are fast learners and self-motivated, independent workers. They will have the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work in varying conditions. Mechanical Technicians receive training in troubleshooting, technical procedures, and safety.ResponsibilitiesPerform highly diversified duties to install and maintain machines and the plant facility's equipmentProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine servicePerform simple machinist duties and responsibilitiesPerform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machinesRead and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceDiagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustmentsPerform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilitiesComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasQualifications2 Year Mechanical Tech Degree or 5+ years' experienceMedical Clearance for use of Fall Protection Harness (Weight restrictions related to equipment limitations may apply)Machine repair and troubleshootingHand tools & measuring instrumentsWeldingExperience with pipe fitting, centrifugal pipe repair, rigging & lifting, rotating equipment, industrial hydraulic power, bearings, industrial lubrication, and statistical process controlAbout OswegoOswego, NY is a small city with a beautiful waterfront, complemented by the maritime theme found within the city.
