Job Title: Entry Level Technician

Job Description

The technician will work alongside an established industrial team, supporting all aspects of industrial clean up and site upkeep in a non-active construction environment. This role requires consistent use of proper personal protective equipment, a solid base of mechanical aptitude, and the ability to handle general equipment and labor tasks safely and efficiently. The position is ideal for individuals who show up reliably, take direction well, and are open to learning from supervisors, forepersons, and managers, with strong potential for paid training, overtime, and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial clean up and site upkeep tasks in and around plant facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Operate general equipment and tools as directed, following all safety procedures and site protocols.
• Carry out general labor duties, including lifting, moving, and cleaning materials in a construction or manufacturing-type setting.
• Follow instructions from supervisors, forepersons, and managers, adapting to different tasks and work priorities throughout the day.
• Maintain proper use of PPE at all times and adhere to safety standards and guidelines in an industrial environment.
• Support ongoing site upkeep activities, including routine clean up and maintenance work around the plant.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial clean up, site upkeep, or general maintenance work.
• Interest in construction, manufacturing, or similar environments.
• Ability to be trained on new equipment, processes, and safety procedures.
• Interest in long-term career growth, including potential supervisor roles.
• Openness to working overtime and occasional weekend or night shifts when available.

Work Environment

The work takes place in and around the Central New York area, with the primary location at a large industrial plant. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with regular opportunities for overtime and additional weekend or night work for those who are able. The environment is industrial and can be dirty, requiring comfort with hard physical work, exposure to dust and debris, and adherence to strict safety protocols. Technicians use general industrial equipment along with hand and power tools and must wear appropriate PPE at all times. The setting is fast-paced, hands-on, and team-oriented, with a focus on safety, reliability, and consistent site upkeep.

This is a Permanent position based out of Oswego, NY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Oswego,NY.
