Genesis10 is currently seeking a Buyer for a contract position with a Global Industrial Equipment Manufacturer located in San Fernando, CA. This is a 3+ month contract opportunity. Pay Range: $35.00 - $43.00 per hour. This role is responsible for purchases made by the organization, including evaluating and approving vendors and authorizing purchase orders for goods or services. The ideal candidate will rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of tasks in procurement. Responsibilities Reviews requisitions Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items Selects suppliers with Supply Chain Manager based on criteria such as quality certification, capacity analysis, and financial analysis Estimates values according to knowledge of market price Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid Prepares purchase orders or bid requests Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, and vendors to determine source of trouble and take corrective action Approves invoices for payment Expedites delivery of goods to users Requirements Bachelor's degree in area of specialty At least 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area Knowledge of MRP systems (Oracle preferred) Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information and research data Problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner Project management skills to coordinate and complete projects on time and budget Understands business implications of decisions Desired skills Customer service skills to manage difficult situations and respond promptly to needs Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Volunteers readily, undertakes self‑development, and seeks increased responsibilities Displays original thinking and creativity to meet challenges with resourcefulness Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and makes timely decisions Prioritizes and plans work activities efficiently Approaches others in a tactful manner and reacts well under pressure Benefits Access to hundreds of clients, most who have been working with Genesis10 for 5-20+ years.
