Job Title Assistant Branch Manager Department Orange Branch Location Orange, MA Hours Monday – Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:15 PM Thursday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM Why this Role Matters The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the branch. This role emphasizes delivering outstanding member service, assisting in business development efforts, and helping to achieve branch performance goals. What You’ll Contribute Member Sales, Service, and Education Provide exceptional member service by addressing and resolving inquiries, issues, and complaints promptly. Maintain a working knowledge of all credit union deposit products, loan products, and electronic delivery channels. Lobby leads to ensure a positive member experience. Drive sales through service by developing a positive member experience and focusing on solutions that meet members' needs. Open and service all types of WCU deposit and loan accounts. Encourage and assist members in resolving financial challenges and achieving goals. Branch Growth Participate in all sales activities to achieve branch goals in product sales, loan and deposit growth, and referrals. Participate in community events and networking activities to promote the credit union and build relationships. Identify and refer members to internal business partners for small business, investments, mortgages, consumer, and insurance services. Tracking and Reporting Metrics Assist the Branch Manager with monitoring and analyzing branch performance metrics, including sales, service quality, and operational efficiency. Assist the Branch Manager with preparing regular performance reports. Leadership In the absence of the Branch Manager, assume responsibility for managing the branch including opening and closing the branch and ensuring sales and service activities continue. Assist the Branch Manager with managing, coaching, and supervising the branch team. Lead by example through accountability, reward, and recognition to drive outstanding performance. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement. Branch Operations Assist the Branch Manager with overseeing branch performance in member satisfaction, operations, scheduling, appointment management, and branch opening/closing. Oversee Branch Operations Coordinator in areas of pre-audit the quarterly branch BICL (Branch Internal Control Library) and serve as the Training Coach and Branch Champion for their respective branch. Review branch error logs and notify frontline of corrections needed. Perform other duties as needed. Accurately process all transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and check cashing, and assist with end‑of‑day balancing. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of WCU products, services, fees, and competitor offerings. Originate consumer loan applications, such as auto, personal, debt consolidation, etc. Other Duties May be asked to provide coverage in other WCU branches or departments. Adhere to all WCU policies, procedures, guidelines, etc. Participate in department and/or organizational projects as directed. Perform other tasks or functions as required, requested, necessary or prudent from time to time. Maintain confidentiality of all member and credit union information and data. Regularly demonstrate behaviors as defined by the credit union’s Fundamentals, which are part of the Workers Way culture program. What You’ll Bring Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail banking. How You’ll Work Onsite - Orange, MA. This position will be based out of our Orange Branch and floating to other close‑by branches as needed. Compensation Pay Grade: 9 FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Pay Grade Range: $27.51 – $34.39 Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted pay grade range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
