Senior Software Developer (Cobol)

Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid 2–3 days onsite) Employment Type: Contract Status: Accepting Candidates About the Role We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to support enterprise mainframe applications and critical business systems. This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications utilizing COBOL, CICS, DB2, and SQL within a complex mainframe environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain applications using COBOL , CICS , and DB2 Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and database processes Support enhancements and maintenance of existing mainframe systems Analyze technical requirements and implement effective solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application delivery Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering , or a related discipline, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience with COBOL , CICS , and DB2 Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts Experience with mainframe technologies and open systems interfaces Ability to analyze, debug, and enhance legacy applications Experience with Healthcare , MMIS , EDI , HIPAA X12 5010 , or NCPDP D.0 is preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr JMD Technologies Inc.
