Product Development Engineer

Lumira Search is partnered with an innovative neurovascular medical device start-up as we look to recruit a Senior Product Development Engineer in Florida. Our client is an early-stage neurovascular company treating stroke and are entering a critical phase of regulatory, clinical, and product development in which this role will play a central part in shaping strategy and enabling successful product development. Location – Florida The Role This is a hands‑on engineering position suited to someone who enjoys working close to the hardware. You will be involved across the full product development lifecycle, from prototyping and testing through to documentation and supporting preclinical activities. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and test electromechanical systems, prototypes, and test setups Support evaluation and integration of components within complex device systems Generate clear documentation including test protocols, reports, and data summaries Contribute to verification and preclinical testing activities, including setup, execution, and analysis Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure documentation and development activities align with regulatory and quality requirements Assist in defining system requirements and performance criteria across hardware and software interfaces. Required Experience BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related field 5+ years of product development experience in medical devices Hands‑on experience working with physical systems, prototypes, and testing environments Familiarity with fluidics, sensors, or electromechanical systems is beneficial Strong technical writing and analytical skills Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with a high degree of ownership Neurovascular, cardiovascular, thrombectomy, aspiration, catheter, pump, or surgical device experience.
