Assembly Operator - Immediately Hiring - 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift Available

Job Description

• The Assembly Operator is responsible for utilizing a variety of hand and power tools to perform advanced assembly operations of complex assemblies in accordance with established quality and quantity standards. This position also involves training employees in both basic and complex operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work in accordance with standard work outlines.
• Assemble car locks daily based on hour-by-hour schedules.
• Navigate through provided kits to assemble each build.
• Perform all work safely, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Follow specifications for inspections as noted.
• Conduct dimensional checks and tests on production to ensure assembled output meets requirements per AQL standards.
• Utilize calibrated precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Inform the Team Leader of any issues with operating conditions, materials, or parts that could affect quality or quantity production, and coordinate approved actions to resolve problems.
• Perform operator maintenance and operational checks on departmental tools and equipment.
• Segregate and periodically dispose of scrap and recycled material into approved collection containers.
• Frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs.
• Engage in standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing as required by the job.
• Receive daily direction and support from the Team Leader/Supervisor.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

• 1 year of assembly experience, with an emphasis on mechanical skills.
• Experience using basic hand tools.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (S.O.P's) and work safely.
• Ability to read and write to comply with written instructions and complete departmental paperwork.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of assembly techniques and tool use.
• Experience in manufacturing and quality inspection.
• Ability to understand and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency with power tools.

Work Environment

• Work schedule is Monday to Friday, with mandatory overtime hours the last week of the month to meet deadlines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $20.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
