Thrive is matching a family in Dallas with a tutor for their daughter, a rising 2nd grader at a top private school near the family's home. This is an enrichment match , not remediation — the family isn't worried about her keeping up, they want her to stay strong, confident, and joyfully stretched beyond the standard curriculum in both math and reading/writing.

She's curious, energetic, chatty, and playful, and she does her best learning when it feels fun rather than like a chore. She loves art, swimming, Taylor Swift, and funny books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Owl Diaries. Sessions are in-home, twice a week (about 60 minutes each — one math, one reading/writing), starting around the beginning of the school year.

This match hinges heavily on personality. The right tutor is upbeat, warm, and genuinely energized by young kids — someone who can make academic work feel playful and purposeful rather than moving from problem A to problem B in a dry, monotonous way. You'll need enough experience to guide a private-school family thoughtfully over time, but the energy of someone who loves this age group.

• Excellent with early elementary students, ideally 1st–3rd grade
• Experience with rigorous private schools is a strong plus
• Upbeat, animated, and comfortable with a chatty, high-energy child
• Able to redirect gently without dampening enthusiasm
• Good at weaving in student interests — pop culture, art, storytelling — to make the work land
• Strong, warm communicator with parents; polished and professional presence

• Reinforce grade-level concepts with strong conceptual teaching, not rote worksheets
• Extend her thinking through richer, more creative problem-solving
• Familiarity with Beast Academy, Art of Problem Solving-style thinking, Singapore-style math, or similar enrichment approaches is ideal
• Help her see math as interesting and confidence-building, not intimidating

• Build comprehension, vocabulary, and early writing confidence
• Use her own interests — humor, storytelling, art — as the entry point
• Reinforce habits like reading directions carefully, explaining her thinking, and communicating clearly
• Keep it playful and creative rather than formal or worksheet-heavy

This role pays $50–$70 per hour, depending on experience, private-school familiarity, and fit.

Requirements

• 2+ years of tutoring or teaching experience, ideally with early elementary students
• Bachelor's degree required; education or subject-matter background preferred
• Reliable transportation for in-home sessions in Dallas
• Available for a consistent weekly schedule, in-home
• Strong written communication
