Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients from pediatric to adult and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Design tailored treatment plans that cater to immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver one-on-one speech therapy sessions focused on communication techniques, language strategies, fluent speech enhancement, vocal rehabilitation, and swallowing interventions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to formulate integrated care approaches.
- Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond the clinical setting.
- Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations, ensuring a seamless continuity of care throughout the patient's journey.
- Maintain precise and prompt documentation in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continued learning and collaboration with peers.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of an accredited Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) prior to achieving ASHA certification is mandated.
Licensure and Certification
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
