Our Solar business delivers industry leading, U.S.-made solar components. We manufacture hyper-pure polysilicon, high-quality solar wafers, and innovative photovoltaic modules, leveraging our leadership in advanced manufacturing to serve growing energy demand. Role Purpose

The Plant HR Specialist supports the Plant HR team in fostering a positive work environment, promoting Corning's values and One Corning culture, and ensuring employees feel heard, respected, and engaged. This role drives employee engagement, addresses employee concerns, and supports the implementation of HR programs and processes within the plant. It is a highly visible, floor-level role that puts you at the center of the employee experience in a fast-growing U.S. manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with plant leadership to develop and execute action plans that strengthen employee engagement, communication, and organizational effectiveness.
• Manage and resolve employee relations issues fairly, consistently, and in a timely manner while balancing employee needs with business objectives.
• Coach plant management on leadership practices that foster a positive, respectful, and high-performing work environment.
• Maintain a visible presence on the plant floor to understand employee sentiment and drive continuous improvement in retention and engagement.
• Support and execute HR initiatives across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee involvement, and recognition programs.
• Develop and/or deliver HR programs including employee communications, training, and engagement initiatives.
• Identify employee retention and turnover concerns and recommend actions to improve the employee experience.
• Analyze employee feedback, turnover trends, and workforce concerns to identify opportunities that improve engagement and retention.
• Promote open communication and assist leaders in creating an environment where concerns can be raised and resolved effectively.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist, Employee Relations, HR Business Partner, or HR Specialist capacity.
  
• Strong listening, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
• HR experience supporting hourly workforces in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or production environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting large hourly employee populations and front-line supervisors.
• Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolution.
  
• Experience coaching and advising managers and supervisors on HR policies and employment law compliance.
  
• Demonstrated success implementing HR programs, business processes, or enterprise HR initiatives.
• Working knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR policies.
  
• Ability to deliver difficult feedback with professionalism and empathy.
  
• Ability to influence others and make sound recommendations with confidence.
  
• Ability to lead meetings with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  
• Experience supporting employee retention and engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience designing or implementing employee engagement, onboarding, or recognition programs.
  
• Familiarity with HRIS reporting and HR data management in a high-volume environment.
  
• Experience in solar, energy, semiconductor, or other high-growth manufacturing sectors.

The range for this position is $79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
