Commercial Litigation Attorney - San Diego

Overview Fennemore, an AM Law 200 law firm that helps businesses thrive, has an immediate need for an attorney with at least five years of quality experience in complex commercial litigation or insurance coverage litigation to join our San Diego office. The ideal candidate will have overall case management experience, including written discovery, depositions, drafting motions and participation in court proceedings. Insurance coverage experience is strongly preferred but not required. The successful candidate may work on a hybrid basis, but should be available to attend hearings, depositions, meetings, and the like, as needed. Opportunity to work on a largely remote basis after a period of integration. Strong academic record, excellent professional credentials, and admission to practice law in California are required. Responsibilities Manage cases with responsibilities across discovery, depositions, drafting motions, and participation in court proceedings. Coordinate and perform written discovery, prepare and file motions, and participate in hearings and other court proceedings as needed. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to advance case strategy and timelines. Qualifications At least five years of experience in complex commercial litigation or insurance coverage litigation. Strong case management experience; ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously. Admission to practice law in California; strong academic record and professional credentials. Hybrid work flexibility with willingness to attend hearings, depositions, and meetings as required. Insurance coverage experience is strongly preferred but not required. Compensation & Benefits Compensation is merit-based and considers experience, location and overall performance. Total annual compensation for a fifth-year attorney in this position is estimated at $235,000, with $195,000 paid monthly and $10,000 paid per quarter if minimum hours are met. The firm also has objective and subjective bonus components. Full compensation and benefits details will be provided to candidates during the hiring process, consistent with applicable pay transparency laws.
