Job Details Location: Brush Country Nursing and Rehabilitation – Austin, TX 78749 Shift: Any Position: Staffing Coordinator Responsibilities Responsible for developing and coordinating resident care staffing schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels in the clinical departments in accordance with company guidelines. Coordinate scheduling in an objective manner for nursing services. Plan and schedule staff for the nursing units to assure care for the residents, distributing appropriately throughout the facility and that staffing meets state and federal regulations. Principal Responsibilities Prepares all schedules for the nursing units and maintains four (4) weeks of posted schedules on the nursing units. Oversees nursing department scheduling in an objective manner, including vacations and holidays. Ensures accuracy of nursing payroll, including verifying hours worked, absences, vacations, PTO, etc.; verifies accuracy of timesheets with schedules and reconciles all attendance data for the clinical department. Accurately documents activities – sick, absent, floating, schedule changes, OT, extra shifts – on staffing sheets. Manages staffing, updates employee data, and audits shifts and schedules to ensure employees meet the requirements for shifts. Prepares and coordinates education schedules as required. Assists in the training of new employees, offering guidance, assistance, and direction during orientation and thereafter. Responds appropriately to inquiries and complaints about staffing and scheduling, takes the initiative to resolve problems with appropriate action and follow‑through, including documentation. Completes nursing hour reports daily. Completes scheduling and paperwork for new nursing employees. Updates schedules with personnel changes. Types memos for any changes in schedules, weekend coverage, holiday coverage, and all vacation coverage. Attends phones in an appropriate manner with proper routing of calls. Maintains computerized schedules within the scheduling software and company software. Fills in as needed and within scope of practice with clinical direct care and other duties in nursing. Increases staff retention through the development of efficient scheduling. Available after hours to be on‑call or otherwise available to respond to calls using a facility‑issued phone; must record hours worked. Minimum of one‑year long‑term care experience required. Strong personal organization and time‑management ability with attention to detail.
