Tax Director (Denver)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Tax to join a high‑impact in‑house tax team supporting real estate and private credit investment platforms. This is a hands‑on leadership role with ownership of complex tax workstreams, transaction support, investor reporting, and tax process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of partnership taxation, real estate/private credit fund experience, and leadership background.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead tax matters for partnership‑based investment vehicles, including private credit funds, tiered partnerships, GP entities, property‑level partnerships, TIC structures, and real estate development projects.
• Support acquisitions, refinancings, capital restructurings, and new investment structures by evaluating tax implications.
• Manage partnership tax reporting, K‑1 delivery, and respond to investor and advisor tax inquiries.
• Coordinate with accounting, operations, and external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance.
• Identify tax risks, resolve complex tax issues, and improve tax processes through automation and technology.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategic tax planning while mentoring team members and driving continuous process improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of tax experience with strong expertise in partnership taxation and complex allocations.
• Extensive experience with real estate and/or private credit fund structures, tiered partnerships, and transaction‑driven tax work.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple high‑priority tax initiatives.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Combination of public accounting and in‑house tax experience.
• Experience with REITs, fund structures, and investor reporting.
• Experience working directly with senior executives, investors, and external advisors.
