Location & Posting Location: St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Indianapolis Posted: May 18, 2026 Overview St. Barnabas Catholic Church and School, a vibrant and growing parish community on the southside of Indianapolis, is seeking a hands‑on Director of Facilities & Maintenance to oversee the care, maintenance, and operation of parish and school facilities, grounds, and equipment. The Director of Facilities & Maintenance is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, repair, and preventive maintenance of all parish and school buildings, grounds, mechanical systems, and equipment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem‑solver with strong technical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. This position requires hands‑on involvement in repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. Responsibilities Perform and oversee repairs and preventive maintenance for parish and school buildings, grounds, and equipment Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical systems Coordinate routine inspections and ensure proper functioning of all facility systems Monitor and maintain safe and clean building conditions throughout the campus Prioritize and respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed Ensure compliance with all fire, safety, health, and environmental regulations Maintain maintenance records, schedules, and inventory of supplies and equipment Assist with setup and support for parish, school, and community events Participate in emergency response and after‑hours maintenance needs when necessary Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on facilities or maintenance experience preferred Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, lighting and mechanical equipment Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs independently Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks Knowledge of applicable fire, safety, and health regulations Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance duties Strong communication and interpersonal skills Valid driver’s license required Experience in school, parish, commercial, or institutional facilities preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
