Technical Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION The purpose of this classification is to provide technical assistance to computer users. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education related to position Two years of related experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education. Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems Answers user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems. Sets up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software Installs, tests, configures, troubleshoots and performs minor repairs to hardware, software, network, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications Maintains records of inventory and service/repair activity Performs related work as assigned SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION Valid driver's license SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Requires the ability to work occasionally during weekend or evening hours May be subject to on-call duty BENEFITS Health and wellness benefits Paid and unpaid time off benefits Direct deposit is required of all employees.
