JOB SUMMARY:

The Slot Floor Person is responsible for providing excellent guest service to all slot guests and ensures that all gaming devices are monitored on a continual basis for full capacity operation.  The position will at times require the employee to work without direct supervision. Job knowledge and the ability to “self-start” are essential. Reports to the Slot Floor Manager or designee. This position is a grade 3/$13.00 per hour + tips.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service; treats all guests and associates with respect, dignity, integrity and sensitivity.
2. Informs guests of departmental and property-wide promotions.
3. Assists guests with slot machine usage; educates them regarding play, wagers, pay tables, etc.
4. Generates jackpot slips at jackpot workstations using the on-line Automated Slot System (Oasis), the New Wave Manual System or the Locked Dispensing Machine as appropriate.
5. Notifies slot staff or other Casino personnel of guest needs and requests; follows up to ensure a positive guest experience.
6. Verifies and/or signs for slot payouts and delivers winnings to guests.
7. When assigned, makes change for guests.
8. Performs minor machine repair and maintenance troubleshoots machine problems and reports major machine malfunctions to Slot Technicians.
9. Assists in maintaining gaming floor security by notifying Security or Property Shift of any suspicious activity.
10. Maintains knowledge of and acts in accordance with Southern Ute Division of Gaming ICMP's (Internal Control Minimum Procedures) pertaining to the gaming floor as well as the policies and procedures of the Sky Ute Casino Resort.
11. Ensures the overall efficiency, productivity and safety of the gaming floor area.
12. Shares work related information with team members.
13. Performs other duties as assigned. 

PERFORMS AS LEAD FLOOR PERSON AS ASSIGNED

On a rotating basis, serves in a lead capacity, assuming responsibility for Kiosk fills, coordinating zone assignments and break rotation and immediate reporting to the Slot Floor Manager, Property Shift Manager.

1. De-escalates and/or resolves guest complaints or concerns; refers issues to Slot Floor Manager and/or Property Shift if appropriate.
2. Identifies valued guests and works with Slot Floor Manager to connect with these guests
3. Assist management with Slot Floor Persons and ensures the overall efficiency, productivity of the entire TEAM.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have minimum of 1 year customer service experience.
• 3 months Slot Tech experience (on the job training available).
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Previous Slot Floor Person experience preferred.
• Must obtain TIPS certification within first 90 days of employment.
• Must have cash handling skills and be able to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals especially as related to financial transactions.
• Must possess a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both oral and written forms.
• Must have good computer skills, including familiarity with MS Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Must be dependable and have a responsible attendance record.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
• Must be able to handle conflict situations calmly with skill and professionalism.
• Must maintain a positive attitude and create an atmosphere of enjoyment for guests and co-workers.
• Must be able to work all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

• Must be able to bend, twist, turn, reach, push and pull, as well as lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. 
• Must be able to maneuver around office areas, effectively work in high traffic areas, and respond to visual and aural cues.
• Must have the dexterity to grip and work necessary items (chips, 10-key adding machine, computers, tools, controls, etc.).
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods and occasionally balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms in confined spaces.
• Must have normal vision range and the ability to distinguish colors, letters, numbers and symbols.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Candidates selected for employment will be subject to reference and background checks.
• Must obtain and maintain a Southern Ute Division of Gaming Support license.
• Responsible for maintaining TIPS certification.
• Must sign confidentiality agreement at time of hire.
• Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times including personnel data, gaming regulations, and department information.
• Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, Gaming Code regulations, and any applicable policies and regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.
