Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for obstetric patients from admission through postpartum, and care for newborns up to 28 days of life; monitor maternal and fetal status and intervene as needed.
- Administer medications, assist with labor and delivery, and support postpartum recovery while ensuring safety and comfort for patients and families.
- Perform newborn assessments, screenings, and routine care; coordinate with obstetric, anesthesiology, and neonatal teams.
- Document all assessments and interventions in the electronic health record; ensure accurate handoffs and continuity of care.
- Implement infection control practices, ensure patient safety, and educate patients and families on care plans and discharge expectations.
- Respond to obstetric or neonatal emergencies using established protocols and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for timely, high-quality care.

Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license in good standing (per Job Notes)
- Experience or demonstrated competence in obstetric, labor and delivery, and newborn care (per Job Notes)
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a hospital labor and delivery unit
- Compliance with organizational vaccination requirements and annual updates; ability to participate in E-Verify (per Job Notes)
- Graduation from an approved nursing education program and current CPR/BLS certification (as standard for the role)
- Willingness to work in an inpatient hospital setting and adhere to unit policies and patient safety standards
