About the Job The Surgical Transplant ICU is a specialized 24‑bed critical care unit staffed by highly dedicated and experienced nurses, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals. It cares for acutely ill surgical patients across specialties such as transplant (liver, kidney, pancreas, small bowel), thoracic, plastic‑reconstructive, vascular, abdominal, and ENT surgery. The unit is equipped with continuous renal replacement, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, complex mechanical ventilation, and medication infusion therapies. The synergy between expertise and our care model leads to some of the best clinical outcomes in the nation. Unit leadership supports shared governance, research, continuing education, and national specialty certification. The STICU is the proud recipient of the Gold Level Beacon Award for Nursing Excellence from the AACN. Key Responsibilities As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems, critically analyze trends and changes in patient status, and plan appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.
