VP of Operations [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP of Operations based in the United States.

This is a high-impact executive leadership role responsible for building and scaling the operational backbone of a global, multi-currency payments network. You will define how money moves across borders by designing and running the systems behind onboarding, settlement, treasury, compliance execution, and corridor expansion. The role sits at the center of a fast-growing financial infrastructure platform operating across multiple regions, where speed, reliability, and regulatory precision must coexist. You will transform early-stage, high-velocity operations into a scalable, automated system capable of supporting global transaction volume. Working closely with product, engineering, finance, and compliance leadership, you will establish the standards, controls, and playbooks that enable repeatable global expansion. This is a builder’s role for an operator who thrives in ambiguity and knows how to turn complexity into structured execution.

Accountabilities

• Own and scale end-to-end operational systems across money movement, banking, treasury, onboarding, support, and compliance execution within a global payments environment.
• Build and optimize core payment operations including settlement, reconciliation, exception handling, funding flows, and multi-rail banking connectivity to ensure reliability and resilience.
• Design and implement onboarding and customer operations processes that reduce friction, accelerate activation, and ensure high-quality service delivery at scale.
• Lead corridor launch operations by creating repeatable playbooks for entering new markets, adapting to regulatory environments, and ensuring consistent operational performance across jurisdictions.
• Oversee compliance operations execution including KYC/KYB workflows, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and AML/CFT operational throughput with defined SLAs.
• Drive operational automation, build scalable SOPs, and establish dashboards and controls that improve speed, reduce manual work, and strengthen risk management across systems.

Requirements

This role requires extensive experience in fintech, payments, banking infrastructure, or regulated financial operations, with a strong track record of building and scaling operational systems from early-stage through growth. Candidates should bring deep expertise in payment operations, reconciliation, onboarding, support workflows, and risk/control environments. You should have experience designing SOPs, building tooling and automation, and managing high-volume, multi-entity financial flows. Strong leadership capability is essential, including hiring and developing teams, setting operating standards, and managing distributed global operations. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and demonstrates strong ownership, execution discipline, and judgment under pressure. Experience in multi-rail or multi-jurisdiction operations, as well as exposure to compliance or corridor expansion, is a strong advantage.
