Senior Highway Project Manager

Overview AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Highway Project Manager to support Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) General Engineering Consultant Program, working as an "extension of staff" in the client’s office in Ocoee, FL. This position offers career growth opportunities through management of toll road and express lane infrastructure projects. Your role Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and draft complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management. Direct the project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitor subcontractors’ compliance with contractual commitments. Prepare project work plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets; communicate these to the project team; and monitor and manage project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives. Monitor reports and schedules to ensure appropriate charging of man‑hours, costs, and expenses to projects and communicate project progress and status to senior management. Establish and maintain project account files on a computerized project management information system and periodically review project reports for accuracy and completeness. Monitor client billings, assist in obtaining payment from clients, and resolve client disputes, adjusting project billing records as required. Monitor subconsultants’ progress and performance, review and approve subconsultant and vendor invoices, and resolve payment and project disputes. Schedule and coordinate project meetings with the project team, regulatory agencies, the client, and other stakeholders. Report financial status of projects to technical managers. Identify new business opportunities for the firm, coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promote the firm’s capabilities. Participate in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and the preparation of the firm’s qualification and experience statements. Supervise technical professionals, associate project managers, and design staff, including workload and staffing management. Perform other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary. About You Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 12 years’ experience in project production and technical professional activities, with six years in a technical lead or project manager role. Professional Engineer’s license in Florida preferred (or ability to obtain within six months). FDOT experience preferred. Strong highway/roadway design and project management experience. Willingness to travel within the state. Strong understanding of FDOT clients and municipalities. Strong project and financial management background. Knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency. Knowledge of PD&E processes a plus. Excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage individuals and teams, provide leadership, and manage project production. Good public speaking ability. Strong project financial management skills.
