Reports To: Practice Manager or Office Manager
Position Summary
This is a dual-role position that combines Front Office operations with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) responsibilities. The successful candidate will play an essential role in both delivering an exceptional patient experience and supporting the financial health of the practice.
As the first point of contact for patients, you will greet visitors, answer phones, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and assist with patient registration. In addition, you will perform key revenue cycle functions including insurance claims processing, payment posting, denial follow-up, accounts receivable management, and other billing-related responsibilities.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and is comfortable balancing administrative, customer service, and financial responsibilities.
While previous experience in a medical office or revenue cycle management is a plus, it is not required. We are committed to training the right candidate who is dependable, eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing outstanding patient care and administrative support.
What You'll Do
As our Front Office & Revenue Cycle Management Specialist, your responsibilities will include a combination of:
Front Office Duties
- Welcome and check in patients with professionalism and compassion.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records.
- Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding patient balances.
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance.
Revenue Cycle Management Duties
- Submit accurate and timely insurance claims.
- Post insurance and patient payments.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and accounts receivable.
- Resolve claim denials and billing issues.
- Respond to patient billing inquiries.
- Monitor aging reports and support timely reimbursement.
- Assist with revenue cycle improvement initiatives to maximize collections and minimize denials.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office, customer service, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle management is preferred but not required.
