HVAC Project Manager - Commercial Location: Plano, TXSalary: $95,000 - $125,000+ (Experience Dependent)A well-established and respected commercial mechanical contractor is seeking a Commercial HVAC Project Manager to oversee HVAC construction projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market.Experienced HVAC Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers who are ready to advance into a Project Management role are encouraged to apply.This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in commercial HVAC construction who can manage projects from turnover through closeout while maintaining budgets, schedules, procurement activities, and client relationships.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary: $85,000-$125,000+Vehicle allowanceFuel reimbursement/company gas benefitPhone allowanceComprehensive benefits packagePerformance-based bonus opportunityPosition OverviewThe Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of commercial HVAC construction projects ranging from approximately $200K to $10M+.Projects may include:HVAC equipment installationsSheet metal and ductwork systemsAir distribution systemsHydronic piping systemsRefrigerant pipingControls coordinationEquipment startupTAB (Testing, Adjusting & Balancing)Commissioning supportPunch list and project closeout activitiesCandidates with experience in either air-side or water-side systems will be considered. Experience with both is preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesManage commercial HVAC projects from turnover through completionReview contract documents, plans, specifications, and project requirementsDevelop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and schedulesOversee equipment and material procurementManage subcontractors, vendors, and supplier relationshipsTrack project costs and maintain profitability goalsProcess RFIs, change orders, and project documentationCoordinate activities with owners, general contractors, consultants, and field teamsMonitor project progress and proactively identify risksManage billing, schedule of values, and financial reportingOversee equipment startup, commissioning, punch lists, and closeout requirementsMaintain accurate project records and documentationRequired QualificationsProject Manager CandidatesCommercial HVAC construction project management experience with a mechanical contractorExperience managing commercial mechanical projects through completionKnowledge of procurement, cost control, budgeting, scheduling, change orders, and project closeoutExperience managing multiple projects or large-scale mechanical construction projectsAssistant PM / Project Engineer CandidatesMinimum 5 years of commercial HVAC construction experienceStrong experience with:SubmittalsRFIsProcurementChange ordersCost trackingSchedulingProject documentationCloseout processesDemonstrated readiness to assume full project ownershipPreferred QualificationsCommercial HVAC Project Manager experienceCommercial HVAC Assistant Project Manager experienceCommercial HVAC Project Engineer experienceSheet Metal Project Manager or APM experienceExperience with air-side and water-side HVAC systemsExperience managing projects valued at $1M-$10M+Strong understanding of startup, commissioning, and closeout proceduresFamiliarity with commercial construction management softwareExperience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft OfficeConstruction Management, Engineering, or related technical education preferredCandidates who complete skills assessments and screening questions will move to the front of the application process!
