What you will do:

• Accessions specimens for cytology and/or surgical pathology.
• Performs specimen processing for further workup in the anatomic pathology laboratory.
• Triages specimens within the department.
• Maintains equipment, re-stocks supplies and reagents.
• Recognition and preliminary resolution of problem cases.
• Performs miscellaneous maintenance tasks within the department.

Additional responsibilities:

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Associate's Degree (Preferred) Work Experience: Previous medical laboratory experience or strong science background (Preferred) Physical Demands: Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination Travel Requirements: 10%
