Aviation Engineer / Project Manager

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an Aviation Engineer / Project Manager to join our Portland (OR) Aviation team. Our clients include Tri‑Cities Airport, Bellingham International Airport, Crater Lake‑Klamath Regional Airport and Roseburg Regional Airport, with some client relationships spanning more than 30 years. Clients trust Mead and Hunt with their most complex, demanding engineering needs such as the $500 M King County International Airport – Boeing Field Taxiway Bravo program and the $150 M Pullman‑Moscow Regional Airport’s runway realignment. Responsibilities Include Serving as the project manager for aviation projects Leading and performing aviation civil engineering tasks Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits Leading proactive client interactions and communications with regard to FAA programming, and state and government agencies Performing QA/QC tasks Supporting onsite during construction as the Engineer of Record, providing construction management/administration to resident engineering teams Travel within the FAA Seattle ADO Region is required (approximately 10% of time) The Successful Candidate Must Have A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university AND at least eight (8) years of relevant experience PE required The Ideal Candidate Will Have Any/All Of The Following Experience leading complex aviation design and construction projects Airport design experience at non‑hub airports (or larger) Experience serving as the project manager on aviation projects Experience mentoring and leading engineering project teams Construction management experience Minimum one year of experience at a project manager level Licensed civil engineer in Washington or Oregon (or ability to obtain state specific license through NCEES) Proficient AutoCAD Civil 3D skill set Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave 401(k) plan with generous company match Life and disability insurance Employee assistance program Compensation Salary Range: $146,000 to $166,000 – actual compensation may vary based on experience, skill set, and location.
