THIS ROLE: - Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist
NorthStar is currently seeking a talented and compassionate Medical Director as we expand our leadership team with a Medical Director of Anesthesia at Inova Fairfax Hospital. We are looking for a board-certified Pediatric/Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to lead, help grow and provide services in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology at Inova Children’s Heart Center. The prospective candidate will join a collaborative team of 5 pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, 2 pediatric cardiac surgeons, 2 interventional cardiologists, and 2 pediatric electrophysiologists. The team on average performs 150 cardio-pulmonary bypass cases, 300 pediatric heart catheterizations, and 125 pediatric EP cases annually.


THE FACILITY:
Inova Fairfax Hospital - Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, our flagship, is synonymous with exceptional patient care and safety. Home to Inova Children’s Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, Inova Schar Cancer Institute, Inova Neurosciences Institute, and Inova Women’s Hospital, our campus houses Northern Virginia's only Level 1 Trauma Center.


CASES INCLUDE:
Pediatric Cardiac surgical cases include the complete spectrum of pediatric heart disease for cardiac and non-cardiac based procedures except heart transplantation.
Mixed practice (pediatric/adult) with a majority of pediatric cardiac and pediatric general cases.
Other cases may include the entire spectrum of pediatric and adult surgical cases (general, ENT, ortho, neurosurgery, Ophtho, dental, urology, GE and OB).

Top of Market Base Salary $550K - $600K+

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing high-quality patient care through clinical expertise, communication, and collaboration with healthcare team members
Conducting patient assessments, creating and implementing care plans, and monitoring patient progress
Documenting patient care and progress accurately and in a timely manner
Educating patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and treatment options
Establishing and maintaining effective staffing patterns and standards of coverage


REQUIREMENTS:
A strong understanding of the business of anesthesia. For the right candidate, we can get you up to speed quickly.
Organized, proactive, and able to function in a high growth, high accountability environment.
Experience taking on leadership initiatives.
Anesthesiologist in good standing with the ABA and state licensing board.
