This individual will perform a variety of materials analyses, conduct high level research, develop and advance standard procedures, and support production operations. In addition, this individual will assist in materials evaluation, characterization, and operational procedures development to support both production and R&D. This individual should be able to leverage their experience and engineering judgment to apply multiple analytical techniques to challenging metallurgical problems and provide critical solutions in support of operations. You Must Have US citizenship, needed in order to obtain and maintain required US Dept. of Energy “Q”‑level security clearance Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Physical Science from an ABET accredited institution Minimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities Some domestic travel ( We Value An understanding of advanced manufacturing techniques, including: powder metallurgy, additive manufacturing, and polymer or metal processing. Experience with metal test methods and mechanical responses, processing, and characterization techniques. These include familiarity with chemical analysis, rheology, particle analysis, micro‑structure analysis, surface analysis, tribology, mechanical testing, and aging/oxidation.
