Per Diem Counselor

The Horsham Clinic is seeking a dynamic and talented Per Diem Counselor in our Child/Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program in Ambler, PA. The Horsham Clinic is a 206 bed private behavioral healthcare facility located on a beautiful 55-acre suburban campus. We are minutes from Philadelphia and we serve Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Horsham Clinic provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. Programs and services are located on the main campus in Ambler, Pennsylvania, as well as satellite day hospital programs in Pennsylvania, Delaware County, and Chester County. The Partial Hospitalization Program Counselor's essential duties are to provide direct care under the supervision of a Program Coordinator, Attending Psychiatrist, or designee. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, activities of daily living and communication with referral sources and families.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience working in Mental Health setting
• Masters Degree preferred
• Bachelors in Psychology/Human Services, Counseling, Social Work required
• Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/ aggressive behavior. General hospital environment.
• Must be willing to work with children, and adolescents
• Experience working with Groups
• Demonstrates working knowledge of behavioral mental health, classroom management, and positive reinforcement
• Highly Developed written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
• Proficiency with common computer based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases
