Job Description
The Electrical Technician installs, assembles, tests, and calibrates electrical products such as sensors, control panels, and associated components used in manufacturing systems. This role follows blueprints, bills of materials, schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) to ensure accurate builds. The technician also supports instrument startup, functional testing, and safety testing in close collaboration with engineering and quality teams.
Responsibilities
- Assemble system control panels, including point-to-point wiring, labeling panels, and performing connectivity testing.
- Complete field wiring for a variety of industrial water systems using appropriate wiring techniques and handling multiple voltage levels.
- Use testing and instrumentation equipment to verify proper operation, safety, and performance of electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, bills of materials, and P&ID diagrams to complete electrical assembly and wiring tasks accurately.
- Perform instrument startup and conduct functional and safety testing in coordination with engineering and quality personnel.
- Transition effectively between different work centers and collaborate closely with production assemblers to support overall system builds.
- Engage with engineers to review and discuss schematics, clarify design intent, and resolve technical questions.
- Collaborate with the electrical engineering team to ensure systems meet design specifications and performance requirements.
- Troubleshoot wiring issues related to design constraints, component limitations, or system configurations and implement effective solutions.
- Work safely and confidently with voltages ranging from 5 VDC through 570 VAC three-phase power.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while adhering to established safety procedures and company policies.
- Perform manual material handling as needed, including lifting components and assemblies up to 50 pounds.
Essential Skills
- Experience in electrical wiring in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience working with both low and high voltages, including DC and AC systems.
- Ability to work with voltages ranging from 5 VDC through 570 VAC three-phase.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, bills of materials, and P&ID diagrams.
- Demonstrated ability to assemble and wire control panels, including point-to-point wiring and labeling.
- Experience using electrical testing and instrumentation tools for verification and troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot wiring issues related to design or system limitations.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and accept training from team members.
- Basic math skills to support measurements, calculations, and electrical work.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, referencing drawings, and interacting with digital tools.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform manual lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working with tools and equipment commonly used in electrical assembly and testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with industrial water or filtration systems is beneficial.
- Experience in production or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, quality personnel, and production assemblers.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different work centers and changing priorities.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate wiring, labeling, and testing.
- Commitment to safety practices when working with a wide range of voltages and electrical components.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift position, typically Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the expectation to arrive before the start of shift and occasional Saturday work from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. when needed. The facility includes a large warehouse area that is separate from the manufacturing space; the warehouse is not temperature controlled but remains very quiet. The operation runs in a large facility with six dock doors and a team-based structure of approximately 15 people, with about five individuals on each shift. Contractors support picking and handling parts for custom filtration systems, ranging from very small components such as washers to larger metal or PBC parts. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safe handling of electrical components, tools, and testing equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $34.00/hr.
