Position Summary

Responsible for safely transporting ED patients to and from Imaging. Provides excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.


Responsibilities
• Physically transfers patients from bed to gurney or bed to wheelchair utilizing proper lift assist techniques and equipment
• Communicates with clinical staff, patients and co-workers
• Safely transfers ED patient to and from imaging
• Hooks patients back up to monitoring system i.e. O2, Cardiac leads, Blood Pressure, Pulse ox
• Assists patients to restroom if needed
• Assists infection prevention to always maintain a safe environment
• Assists the technologists with turning over rooms i.e. wiping down equipment, changing sheets, and ensuring blanket warmer is stocked
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned


Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, preferred
• BLS required
• MOAB Certification during General Orientation


Working Conditions
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
• Must be able to move or traverse with/without accommodation
• Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height
• Must be able to maintain a standing position
• Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.
• Typical equipment used in a facilities job
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals, acids, cleaning solution, disinfectants, soaps, etc
