Project Manager - Water

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Water to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion. This role will involve managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams to coordinate activities and achieve project objectives.


Key responsibilities will include developing project plans, programmes, budgets and risk registers; monitoring progress and financial performance; managing procurement and contract administration; and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, technical standards, environmental requirements and health and safety procedures. You will identify and resolve risks, issues and change requests, provide clear progress reports, and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders. The role may also involve overseeing design coordination, site delivery, commissioning and handover, while supporting continuous improvement and sharing best practice across project teams.


Applicants should have proven experience managing water, wastewater, utilities or other major infrastructure projects, ideally from design through construction and completion. A relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline is desirable, along with experience using project controls, scheduling and cost-management tools. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, risk management, health and safety, and quality assurance is expected. You will be an organised and commercially aware professional with excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills, capable of managing competing priorities and building productive relationships. The ability to work collaboratively, make sound decisions and maintain a strong focus on delivery and customer outcomes is essential.
