Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. This role will oversee the planning, coordination and execution of projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Projects may include treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, networks, upgrades and other essential utilities infrastructure.


Key responsibilities will include developing project plans, programmes, budgets and risk registers; coordinating design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities; and managing internal teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders. You will monitor progress against agreed milestones, identify and resolve issues, manage change control and ensure accurate reporting to senior management and clients. The role will also involve reviewing technical documentation, supporting tender and contract processes, administering commercial obligations and maintaining clear project records throughout the delivery lifecycle.


The successful candidate will have proven experience managing civil engineering, water or wastewater projects, ideally within a regulated utilities or infrastructure environment. A relevant qualification in engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline is desirable, together with strong knowledge of health and safety, environmental compliance, quality assurance and contract management. Experience with common project delivery and contract frameworks, cost control, scheduling tools and risk management methodologies would be advantageous. You will be a confident communicator and practical problem-solver, able to build effective working relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. A proactive approach, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.
