Patient Safety Program Manager

Position Overview Responsible for serving as a liaison with and overseeing enterprise patient safety activities, projects, and programs. How you will make an impact Lead patient safety initiatives and workstreams that support the identification, measurement, and reduction of preventable harm; ensure integration of patient safety priorities into broader business processes; and coordinate activities across organizational priorities and defined patient safety pillars. Work with clinical, analytic, operational, provider, compliance, legal, and vendor stakeholders to design and implement patient safety initiatives and interventions. Coordinate complex workstreams involving detection methodologies, data integration, provider engagement, policy implementation, intervention programs, external partnerships, and performance monitoring. Ensure that study methodology is sound and appropriate reporting is in place. Develop and oversee implementation plans and patient safety improvement activities designed to improve the quality and safety of care for members. Assure compliance with applicable governance, regulatory, accreditation, and corporate requirements. Ensure that patient safety activities are relevant to the needs of targeted populations and aligned with enterprise priorities. Maintain effective documentation of patient safety programs and initiatives to meet regulatory and accreditation standards. Provide oversight to assure accurate and complete quantitative analysis of clinical and operational data and presentation of results. Oversee implementation of new initiatives and monitor performance against established objectives and measures. Lead interactions with regulators, oversight entities, external partners, and key stakeholders as appropriate. Contribute to the development and execution of enterprise patient safety strategies and support continuous improvement efforts across patient safety programs. Minimum Qualifications BS in health administration, nursing, public health, health informatics, clinical sciences, or a related healthcare field. Six years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, program management, healthcare analytics, healthcare policy, managed care, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences Project management experience. Current unrestricted license or certification in applicable field (e.g., CPHQ) and/or an MS in a health‑related field (e.g., Nursing). Claims system experience. Experience with CMS Patient Safety programs (HAC Reduction). Knowledge of AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators. Experience in a surgical environment. Experience in a pharmacy environment. Maternal clinical experience. Familiarity with Leapfrog Group safety measures. Strong skills in data‑driven quality improvement, trend analysis, and translating safety data into system‑level action. Salary For candidates working in person or virtually in the specified location(s), the salary range for this position is $81,624 to $154,656.
