Patient Safety Program Consultant Location: Indianapolis, IN; Denver, CO; Woodland Hills, CA; Mason, OH; Grand Prairie, TX; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Norfolk, VA; New York, NY; St.Louis, MO; Louisville, KY; Chicago, IL. Hybrid Work: 1–2 days in‑office per week (Hybrid1). Position Overview Responsible for serving as a clinical subject matter expert supporting enterprise‑wide patient safety activities and programs. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and continuously improve patient safety initiatives. Partner with clinical, operational, and analytic teams to identify barriers to safe and effective care. Conduct clinical reviews, chart abstraction, medical record reviews, and evidence reviews to support patient safety initiatives. Design and support studies to identify opportunities for patient safety improvement and evaluate effectiveness of interventions. Ensure study methodology is sound and appropriate reporting is in place. Develop recommendations to support patient safety improvement activities and improve quality and safety of care for members. Support governance, regulatory, accreditation, and compliance activities related to patient safety programs. Maintain effective documentation of research programs, review activities, and patient safety initiatives to meet regulatory and accreditation standards. Ensure patient safety activities are relevant to targeted populations and aligned with organizational priorities. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support implementation of patient safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. Oversee accurate and complete quantitative analysis of clinical data and presentation of results. Contribute recommendations to improve intervention effectiveness, measurement accuracy, and patient safety outcomes. Minimum Qualifications BS in health administration, nursing, public health, health informatics, clinical sciences, or a related clinical field. At least 3years of healthcare quality, patient safety, clinical review, medical record review, or data analysis experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Preferred Qualifications Current unrestricted license or certification in applicable field (e.g., CPHQ). MS in a health‑related field (e.g., Nursing). Experience with CMS Patient Safety programs (HAC Reduction). Knowledge of AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators. Familiarity with Leapfrog Group safety measures. Strong skills in data‑driven quality improvement, trend analysis, and translating safety data into system‑level action. Salary Range $70,756 to $134,064 (location and experience based).
