Job Summary The Certified Nurse Midwife functions as a collaborative member of the health care team in the delivery of comprehensive health and health maintenance to patients in ambulatory settings. The Certified Nurse Midwife provides outpatient comprehensive primary care service including: preventive and health maintenance services, acute and chronic care, clinical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Qualifications Education For Certification the requirements for Education are: Applicants who graduated on or after October 1, 1998, must have completed requirements for a Master's degree or Post- Master's degree certification. Applicants who graduated prior to October 1, 1998 are exempt from above requirement. Graduates from either a certificate or currently closed program should submit supporting documentation that demonstrates program compliance with Board guidelines. Experience Three to five years of experience preferred. Certification/Licensure Current certificate issued by ANCC and/or or AANP or eligible. Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) required. Active Florida license required. DEA license preferred. BLS certification required. Background Screening Requirement This position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
