This is what we believe makes us the best place to start or build your career.Our Legal Response Team serves as a critical partner to the firm, managing legal requests, court orders, litigation matters, and regulatory inquiries while helping protect the firm, its clients, and its associates. This team works across a variety of legal workstreams and collaborates with business partners, attorneys, courts, and outside counsel to ensure timely, accurate, and risk-conscious responses. As a Paralegal II, you'll play a key role in supporting litigation and regulatory matters, with a primary focus on third-party subpoenas, court orders, and eDiscovery activities. You'll work independently on complex legal matters, provide guidance to business partners, and help drive process improvements while collaborating with a highly engaged legal team.What You'll DoIndependently review, analyze, and respond to complex third-party subpoenas and other legal requests.Provide guidance on court orders and assist with a variety of legal inquiries and service tickets.Manage and support eDiscovery activities, including data collection, analysis, review, tagging, and production for litigation and regulatory matters.Assist with higher-risk, more complex, or sensitive legal matters across the team.Partner with in-house attorneys, legal professionals, outside counsel, and external stakeholders to support ongoing legal matters.Conduct legal research, including review of state statutes, court rules, and procedural requirements.Draft, review, and interpret legal documents and correspondence.Proactively identify potential issues, assess risk, and recommend solutions.Participate in and contribute to team discussions, process improvements, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.Train and support team members on legal processes, technology, and best practices.Ensure appropriate handling and protection of confidential, sensitive, privileged, and private information.Support special projects and other legal initiatives as directed.Where You'll Make an Immediate ImpactSupport critical third-party litigation matters that impact the firmEnhance and improve eDiscovery workflows and best practices.Help streamline legal response operations through process improvements and collaboration.Serve as a trusted resource for legal guidance and operational support across multiple stakeholders.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate required.Minimum of five years of experience working on litigation matters in private practice or an in-house legal department.Knowledge of and experience with eDiscovery processes.Ability to quickly learn firm operations, systems, and processes.Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-volume environment.Strong decision-making skills with the ability to apply department guidance and legal knowledge with minimal attorney oversight.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage competing priorities, assess risk, and adapt to changing business needs.Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, legal case management systems, eDiscovery platforms, Westlaw, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.Preferred QualificationsExperience with guardianships and conservatorships.Experience using Relativity.Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents.What Sets You ApartYou're comfortable navigating ambiguity and making informed decisions independently.You have a strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.You're naturally curious and enjoy digging into complex legal issues.You build strong relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.You continuously look for opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies.Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.Edward Jones does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, pregnancy, veteran status, genetic information or any other basis prohibited by applicable law.Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage.
