Make a meaningful impact supporting students in an engaging, collaborative educational environment near Gettysburg, PA. Two dedicated Special Education Teachers are needed for a full-time contract role in a vibrant learning center, serving Autistic Support Rooms with possible assignments that may evolve. The assignment runs Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, beginning as soon as all required Pennsylvania clearances and pre-training steps are completed. The contract spans August 2026 through June 2027, providing an exciting opportunity to help shape the school year for learners who benefit from specialized instruction.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education
- Previous experience working in Autistic Support or similar special education environments, preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and individualized learning strategies
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting classroom assignments or student needs
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom setting
- Ability to fulfill pre-training and compliance requirements promptly
As a Special Education Teacher in this setting, you’ll:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to elementary or middle school students with autism or related needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor progress, collect data, and adjust teaching strategies for student success
- Maintain communication with families and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to each learner’s growth
- Create a positive, nurturing environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic development
