Accountant

Walker Elliott

Walker Elliott is working with a growing energy investment company is looking to add Accountant to its team due to continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to build a career within the energy industry. The company offers exposure to oil and gas accounting, royalty interests, financial reporting, acquisitions, and investment operations, providing an opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the business rather than focusing on just one area of accounting. The company is open to both early-career accounting professionals and experienced candidates. Candidates with an accounting degree and a strong academic record who are interested in learning oil and gas accounting will be considered and can be trained on the industry-specific aspects of the role. The position is fully onsite in Louisiana and will require relocation for candidates who do not currently live in the area. Responsibilities: Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, production and royalty payments Assist with property tax reviews, financial reporting, and investor reporting Maintain accurate accounting records and help resolve discrepancies Support the team with additional accounting and financial projects as the company grows Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong academic performance; 3.0+ GPA preferred for recent graduates Early-career candidates with an accounting background are encouraged to apply Experience in oil and gas accounting is a plus, but not required Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Experience with Power BI is a plus Ability and willingness to work onsite in Louisiana Do not apply unless you are authorized to work in the United States for any employer as client company cannot sponsor or transfer visas at this time.
