Facilities Mechanical Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join our team on-site in Corvallis, OR. In this role, you will work closely with client stakeholders and cross-functional design teams in a fast-paced environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for complex manufacturing tool installations, tenant improvements, and core facility infrastructure upgrades.

You will lead design efforts for wet and dry piping, HVAC, exhaust, fire suppression, and process chemical/gas systems within complex, densely packed industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical Infrastructure Design: Develop complete design and layout packages for HVAC, exhaust, hydronics, process chemical piping, gases, and fire suppression systems to support high-tech manufacturing tools and facility retrofits.
• Calculations & Sizing: Perform engineering calculations, select and size equipment/components, draft technical specifications, and ensure full compliance with applicable codes.
• Utility Requirement Integration: Collaborate directly with equipment manufacturers, tool owners, and stakeholders to build utility requirement documents and design packages for next-generation equipment.
• Construction & On-Site Support: Assist with field visits, submittal reviews, and Requests for Information (RFIs) on-site during the construction and factory integration phases.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Partner effectively with cross-discipline design teams, contractors, and client representatives throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Licensure: Engineer in Training (EIT) designation, actively pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Experience: 3+ years of practical mechanical facilities engineering experience (HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related systems).
• Work Authorization: Must complete a background check, drug screen, and be fully authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with semiconductor manufacturing tools, cleanroom environments, or advanced facility design.
• 1+ year of field experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility.
• Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks .
• Working knowledge of the Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code (OMSC) or equivalent state building codes.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and team-based communication skills.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Work Schedule: On-site Monday-Friday during normal business hours (nominally 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
• Physical Demands: Requires active field walks at construction and operating industrial sites. Must be able to walk long distances, sit/stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks/confined spaces, and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
