As a leading redistributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry foods, our team plays a direct role in strengthening the resilience of the food supply chain and supporting retailers and foodservice operators who feed communities every day.Location: Syracuse, NYSchedule: Wednesday through Saturday: 3:00 PM - 2:00 AMThe Yard Specialist is a Certified Motor Vehicle Operator who operates primarily out of the truck yard at the G&C Foods facility. The Yard Specialist is responsible for the fleet of trucks and trailers, including placement, inspection, and general maintenance of the equipment.Duties and Responsibilities:Performs daily yard equipment inventory at the start of each shiftPulls all returns and pallet jacks off trailers left in the yard and plugs them inBring backhaul paperwork from the Guard shack to TransportationFuels TrailersMove trailers to designated docks for loading and unloadingProperly pre-trip Yard Tractors and Trailers to make sure they are DOT compliantReport Service issues to dispatch and ServiceEmpty trash by the fuel pumps and by vacuum in the garage as neededAssist Drivers as neededTake equipment for repairs as neededMaintain a safe and clean work environmentCollaborate with snow removal company to ensure safe operations of the yard during snowstorms/winter monthsCheck the yard for debris/trash that could cause damage to equipmentPerforms wash moves as specified by the Yard Management SystemPerforms other functions as needed or directed by ManagementAdditional duties as assignedRequired Skills & Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED preferredCDL-A preferredNYS Driver's LicenseWhy Build Your Career at G&C Foods?At G&C, we believe exceptional people deserve exceptional rewards.
