Retail Ground-Up Superintendent - Southern CA

ASI General Contractors is seeking a dynamic and talented Retail Ground-Up Superintendent with a minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience to join our team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality projects within ASI’s core markets, including banking, government, retail, and fast food. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for project management, team mentorship, and ensuring safe, efficient, and successful project execution. Key Responsibilities: Project Scheduling & Monitoring: Develop, update, and distribute weekly 3-week look-ahead schedules using Microsoft Project, track project progress, and evaluate the impact of changes to ensure timely completion. Collaborative Project Management: Work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Jobsite Logistics: Manage logistics, ensuring smooth operations while maintaining positive relationships with surrounding communities, occupants, and stakeholders. Stakeholder Coordination: Negotiate with relevant authorities to meet project occupancy milestones and act as ASI’s primary field representative in interactions with clients, design teams, and subcontractors. Safety Leadership: Champion ASI’s commitment to a safe, injury-free work environment by enforcing safety protocols and maintaining compliance with OSHA standards. Subcontractor Management: Coordinate work scopes, schedules, and resource allocation for subcontractors with ASI’s internal crews to optimize project efficiency and quality. Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex issues on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and budgets. Team Leadership: Oversee, manage, and mentor assistant superintendents while encouraging the professional growth of foremen to prepare them for future superintendent roles. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a commercial ground-up superintendent, preferably in banking, retail, or fast food projects, with a proven track record of completing projects valued at $3M or greater (please include a project list with resume). Additional experience in commercial tenant improvement projects valued over $1M is a plus. Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Certifications: OSHA 30 certification is required. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Microsoft Project, and project management software (e.g., Autodesk, Procore, or similar). Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage, motivate, and mentor teams effectively. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and people skills for leading teams, managing subcontractors, and fostering collaborative problem resolution. Work Ethic: A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a strong work ethic and adaptability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Travel: Willingness to travel as required for project assignments. Salary Range: $120,000 – $145,000 (commensurate with experience) Why Join ASI Construction?
