Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a meaningful role guiding students toward academic and personal growth as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position is a full-time commitment—37.5 hours per week—working collaboratively with students, families, and staff. Multiple opportunities are available (4 openings), with placements at various nearby locations: Flagship, Mt. Pleasant, and Richmond. Please indicate which site you are closest to for optimal placement.

Your responsibilities will involve developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), differentiating instruction, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining proactive communication with parents, administration, and multidisciplinary teams. Collaborate to cultivate a supportive environment where students’ unique abilities are celebrated and success is the priority.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Credential (state required)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Experience teaching or supporting students with diverse special needs
• Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
• Ability to foster inclusivity and adapt curriculum for various learning styles
• Familiarity with IEP processes and related legal guidelines

Key Duties:

• Design and deliver personalized lesson plans for students with exceptionalities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, therapists, and families
• Track student progress and report outcomes regularly
• Create a safe, engaging classroom that promotes positive behavior and self-advocacy
• Actively participate in IEP meetings and staff development
