As a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Operations in Orangeburg, NY , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $20.25 - $21.25 / Hour Job Schedule DayTimeMon02:00 PM - 10:00 PMSat02:00 PM - 10:00 PM How This Role Works Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a financial institution by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior areas, parking facilities, entry points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions. Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site‑specific procedures; report access‑control concerns and suspicious activity to appropriate personnel. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and incident‑reporting procedures. Document patrol observations, incidents, and security‑related activities accurately and promptly in required logs and reports. Minimum Requirements Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience. Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred. Hold CPR and First Aid certification, preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
