CNC Machinist - 1st Shift

CNC Machinist

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a CNC Machinist to work out of its state-of-the-art, climate controlled facility in Mesa, AZ.

The CNC Machinist operates CNC machines while maintaining high productivity levels throughout their shift. They also complete all job duties to ensure a smooth handoff of status to the following shift upon their arrival.

The key responsibilities of this CNC Machinist include, but are not limited to:

• Read and understand job layouts, blueprints, and schematics
• Work from written and verbal job instructions on operations
• Assist production supervisors with all aspects of KPI requirements (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost)
• Active participant and advocate of Lean and 5S culture company wide
• Follow "in-process" quality inspections and work with team members to ensure total quality
• Aid in feedback to planning and engineering to optimize productivity
• Provide translation service for team members when required
• Ensure usage of correct gaging, hand measuring tools and metrology equipment to deliver the highest possible quality components for our customers
• Support preventative maintenance of equipment and report machine issues to production supervisor
• Provide hourly production stats to production supervisor and implement quick corrective actions

• 25 minutes from Phoenix, AZ

Competencies:

• General knowledge of workmanship standards, surface finish, and burrs
• Proficiency in measurement equipment
• Familiar with machine upkeep
• Familiar with 5S and organization concepts
• Strict time management with self and other employees to support a productive work environment
• Ability to communicate with and collaborate with team members
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work on a busy manufacturing floor

Education / Experience Requirements:

• Less than 2 years of lathe production experience on advanced CNC machines and related production equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift no more than 75 lbs. of bar stock (preferred but not required)
