• Administer contrast media into coronary arteries as instructed by a Cardiologist during cardiac catheterization.
• Assess the impact of pathology and vital signs to determine the appropriate pressure for each hand injection.
• Utilize knowledge of normal physiological and electrocardiographic sequences of cardiac contraction, identifying both minor and serious arrhythmias while providing necessary patient care.
• Act as a first assistant to the physician, independently scrubbing in and assisting with the manipulation and placement of guide wires and catheters.
• Schedule and manage patient flow efficiently.
• Maintain adequate supplies for interventional and cardiac procedures, ensuring all patient records and departmental checklists are up to date.
• Order supplies through the hospital purchasing system and assist the supervisor with inventory management.
• Accurately input patient and supply data into the RIS and/or hospital computer systems.
• Conduct hemodynamic physiological monitoring and record calculations for cardiovascular procedures, including angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional imaging.
• Perform electrophysiology and ablation procedures, ensuring quality patient care and monitoring throughout all phases of the procedure as per physician directives and established policies.
• Familiarize yourself with all equipment, inventory, and supply locations, operating emergency equipment safely and responding to on-call emergencies as per departmental guidelines.
• Handle pre-procedural tasks such as preparing sterile trays, educating patients about procedures, and confirming necessary lab work and medical histories.
• Manage post-procedural responsibilities, including monitoring catheter and device insertion sites and providing patient discharge instructions.
• Transport patients safely and communicate their care status to the receiving unit.
• Operate all imaging equipment (e.g., digital systems, pressure injectors, processors, rapid film changers, and cine) to produce high-quality diagnostic images in line with departmental policies.

• Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program lasting at least 2 years.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology.
• Experience in interventional radiology or cardiac catheterization, or an equivalent background.
• Certification or registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Possession of a Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or eligibility.

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $41.98 - USD $71.68 per hour.
