Staff System Power Engineer, Google Pixel Hardware

Drive system power design optimized for battery life and thermals.Analyze and optimize the hardware and software interlock across the key components of the SOC like CPU, GPU, memory subsystem, and system components such as NPUs, cameras, display, connectivity.Collaborate with cross-functional teams on battery, charging and fuel gauge solutions and own system validation for charging. Debug and resolve battery drain and thermal issues. Validate for power consumption, develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption.Provide inputs to architecture teams on new SOC and system features and initiatives to improve power.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.6 years of work experience in development, testing and deployment of consumer electronics/embedded systems.3 years of experience in technical leadership.Experience in embedded systems, operating systems, and power processing.Preferred qualifications:PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with Android BSP, Kernel Drivers, Android Internals, Embedded Processors.Google is making an important investment in the smartphone consumer market to provide a unique experience to the users by building smarter phones with longer-lasting battery life.The Pixel System Power team owns the battery life aspect of the Pixel system software, which is a problem that straddles both software and hardware domains. You will work cross-functionally across silicon and software teams to drive power optimizations and improve the battery-life experiences of users.
